Job Title: Strategy Director – Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB)

Location: London

Hours: Full-time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London office. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing:

This role plays a key part in creating the Group’s strategy offering a chance to influence major business decisions and collaborate with senior leadership.

As a Strategy Director, you’ll lead and contribute to complex strategic initiatives across CIB and the wider Group. You’ll develop recommendations on high-profile topics, combining deep analysis and original research to advise decisions at GEC and Board level. You’ll also support the execution of these strategies, translate into real outcomes.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the Group’s corporate strategy, assessing the evolving operating environment and competitive landscape to ensure we continue to meet customer needs and deliver long-term shareholder value. Alongside this, you’ll produce insightful analysis on competitors, challenger banks and wider market trends, identifying themes with strategic implications.

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years’ experience in strategy, corporate development, investment banking or consulting, with exposure to complex financial services environments
  • Proven track record analysing large, complex datasets and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations
  • Strong experience supporting or delivering strategic initiatives such as M&A, disposals or transformation programmes
  • Ability to engage senior partners and contribute to Executive and Board-level discussions producing high-quality materials for diverse audiences
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of market dynamics, competitors and investor expectations

And any experience of these would be great:

  • Experience of strategy in the context of operations/technology would be beneficial
