LOCATION(S):  Chester or Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for a Senior Data Product Owner to lead the design and delivery of high-impact data products across our Loans & Affordability Platform. This is a critical role at the heart of our data transformation, where you’ll shape how data is used to support lending decisions, regulatory outcomes and enable us to deliver more meaningful customer interactions.

You’ll play a key leadership role in delivering major transformation initiatives, including modernising the Loans platform, transitioning away from legacy data infrastructure, and building a scalable, product-led approach to data. Working closely with engineering, architecture and business teams, you’ll ensure data products are reliable, valuable and built for the future - turning complex data needs into clear, high-value products.

You’ll define and evolve the product vision and roadmap, balancing strategic goals with day-to-day delivery, and making sure we’re always focused on what delivers the greatest impact. Leading cross-functional teams, you’ll create clarity and momentum, helping teams work effectively in an agile way to deliver iteratively and at pace. Along the way, you’ll champion strong data governance, improve data quality and consistency, and ensure solutions are scalable, efficient and aligned to our long-term transformation ambitions.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for?

  • 5 years experience as a Data Product Owner or Product Manager in a similar industry (e.g., banking, finance).
  • Strong knowledge of data-driven product development and agile methodologies.
  • Expertise in GCP BigData technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc).
  • Experience in developing and managing product roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

This is a place for you:

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
