Our Security Operations team is growing and have opportunities for Data Loss Prevention Specialists in Edinburgh / Glasgow / Alderley Edge. We monitor and manage potential and real data loss events in key business areas. These are exciting opportunities to join a growing organisation and work on a variety of new security tooling and technologies
The successful candidates will be responsible for managing and improving Data handling, Data Loss Prevention systems, investigate alerts, and work with teams across Cyber Security, IT, Legal, and Compliance to reduce data security risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Developing the posture of the detections and collaborating with key stakeholders.
About the role
Monitor and respond to DLP alerts and security events.
Lead the Investigation with alerts to identify genuine risks or false positives.
Identify potential data leaks or unauthorised data transfers.
Incident Response & Reporting relating to Data Loss
Support investigations into data loss incidents.
Document findings and recommend remediation actions.
Produce reports for security teams, management, and compliance stakeholders.
Policy & System Management
Maintain and improve DLP policies and rules.
Work with business teams to ensure data protection policies are effective and practical.
Identify trends in data handling and security risks.
Recommend improvements to security processes, tools, and automation.
Stay up to date with emerging threats and data protection practices.
About you
Experience in Data Loss Prevention, Security Operations, or Cyber Security monitoring.
Show leadership skills and manage complex investigations
Exposure to fraud or whistleblowing investigations
Experience refining detection use cases or improving alert quality
Understanding of privacy laws in employee monitoring contexts
Experience delivering awareness or prevention initiatives
Strong communication skills
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar tooling.
Experience with Microsoft 365 security tools or cloud security.
Knowledge of insider risk, digital forensics, or behavioural analytics.
Relevant certifications (e.g. Security+, CCSP, CISSP, Microsoft SC-400.
Experience working in a SOC or operational security environment.
