What you’ll be doing:

Looking to play a key role in transforming a critical part of commercial lending operations?

As Operations Manager within our Securities Centre of Excellence, you'll help lead a complex operation supporting customers across Business & Commercial Banking.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, you'll support the delivery of our securities strategy across the United Kingdom and India, helping to drive operational performance, transformation and customer outcomes at scale. You'll collaborate with third party operational partners and key internal stakeholders to deliver strong customer, performance and risk outcomes whilst supporting the expansion of our global operating model.

You'll help lead service transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance customer journeys and increase operational efficiency. You'll play an important role in strengthening the risk and control environment through effective oversight, continuous improvement and automation opportunities where appropriate.

Alongside driving performance and change, you'll build and maintain positive relationships across the wider Group, supporting key business initiatives and contributing to the ongoing success of Lending Operations. You'll also be passionate about developing colleagues, providing coaching and mentoring to help individuals and teams achieve their full potential.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone, make change happen and challenge the status quo. Sound like you?

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience as an operational leader or improvement & change delivery within commercial banking, lending operations or a regulated financial services environment.
  • Solid understanding of the end-to-end commercial lending lifecycle, with experience of securities and collateral management processes.
  • Proven experience delivering strong operational, customer and risk outcomes whilst managing an effective control environment.
  • Experience leading or supporting large scale transformation, process improvement, digitisation or automation initiatives across multiple locations.
  • Experience working within global or multi location operations, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business areas and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, control improvement programmes and maintaining a robust control environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor, develop and empower colleagues to deliver excellent customer and business outcomes.

And any experience of these would be great:

  • Experience of working with Business Process Outsourcing
  • Delivery of process efficiencies and enhancement within an operational area

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this advert may reference specific experience, we recognise that skills are developed in different ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

This is a place for you:

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
