SALARY: £72,702 - £88,858

LOCATION(S):  Leeds, Edinburgh, Bristol, Halifax or Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

We’re looking for a Technical Application Specialist to join the Assured Build team, supporting the delivery of secure, scalable platforms across LBG.

Assured Build is a CSO centre of excellence service that enables Platforms and Infrastructure (hardware, software and firmware) to meet Security Relevant Configuration (SRC) requirements.

We support teams by:

  • Assuring security configurations in both static build artefacts and CI/CD pipelines

  • Driving greater automation, consistency, and reuse of security artefacts

  • Embedding security earlier into the engineering lifecycle

This is an opportunity to work at the innovative forefront of secure-by-design engineering, helping to embed security seamlessly into how technology is built and delivered.

Why join us?

We’re investing billions in our people, places and tech to change the way we meet the needs of our 28 million customers. We’re growing, and we’d love you to be part of the journey.

What we’re looking for?

As a Technical Application Specialist, you’ll play a key role in strengthening security across our platforms by:

  • Assessing systems against internal security frameworks, design and baseline build requirements

  • Using DevOps tools and automation to improve how security artefacts are reviewed and approved

  • Partner with Cloud Security Engineers and platform teams to drive reuse and standardisation of security artefacts

  • Configure and support cloud security policies and portals

  • Evaluating the impact of technology roadmap changes on security patterns and controls

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of cyber security services, including processes, templates, and documentation

  • Identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support delivery of change initiatives, working with project and programme teams where needed

  • Deliver practical, scalable solutions that meet customer and business needs

And any experience of these would be great

  • A strong technical foundation with the ability to quickly learn and adapt

  • An outcome-focused approach — balancing delivery pace with quality and detail

  • Broad understanding of cyber security domains, including cloud security (Azure and/or GCP)

  • Hands-on technical experience, including the ability to read and interpret code

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
