Citi is looking for a Digital Assets Production Support & SRE Lead to own the reliability and operational integrity of business-critical digital asset platforms, including blockchain-connected systems, digital wallets, and high-throughput transaction processing infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority — bridging engineering, operations, and business teams to resolve complex platform challenges and drive measurable improvements in system stability. You will directly shape how Citi's digital asset capabilities perform at scale, influencing both the day-to-day resilience of the platform and its long-term engineering direction.
Responsibilities:
Lead production support and site reliability engineering for mission-critical digital asset platforms, ensuring system availability, performance, and continuity across blockchain-connected environments and transaction processing systems.
Own end-to-end incident management — from detection through resolution and post-incident review — using observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, and OTEL to minimise business impact and reduce recurrence.
Identify and define system enhancements by analysing existing platform logic, diagnosing root causes of failures, and delivering targeted, scalable solutions that improve operational outcomes.
Partner with product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams across multiple technology areas to document system impacts, surface support requirements, and align on delivery priorities.
Evaluate risk exposures, security vulnerabilities, and platform gaps — communicating findings clearly to technical and business stakeholders and proposing actionable mitigation strategies.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling using Python, Java, or equivalent languages to reduce manual intervention, accelerate incident resolution, and improve platform observability.
Act as a technical mentor to junior engineers, guiding workload allocation, sharing expertise, and raising the overall engineering standard of the support function.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Relevant hands-on experience in production support, SRE, or platform engineering, with a track record of supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems at scale.
Deep expertise in incident management and systems-level troubleshooting, including proficiency in Linux diagnostics and real-time or distributed system debugging.
Practical experience with monitoring and observability platforms, including at least one of Splunk, Grafana, ELK, Prometheus, OTEL, or GCO, applied to production environments.
Scripting and automation capability in Python, Java, or a comparable language, with demonstrable examples of reducing operational toil or accelerating incident response.
Strong SQL skills used for data investigation, platform diagnostics, and incident analysis across complex datasets.
Demonstrated ability to lead requirement-gathering and system scoping efforts across multiple concurrent large-scale technology programmes.
Clear, confident communicator across technical and business audiences, with the ability to translate complex platform issues into business impact and actionable recommendations.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
Background in markets technology or electronic trading platforms, where low-latency, high-availability engineering is a core operational standard.
Experience supporting payments platforms or FinTech exchanges, with exposure to transaction processing, settlement flows, or real-time financial data pipelines.
Prior experience operating within SRE or platform engineering functions at scale, including ownership of SLOs, error budgets, or reliability frameworks.
Familiarity with blockchain-connected infrastructure, digital wallet systems, or distributed ledger technologies within a regulated financial environment.

"We consistently assess Citi’s role in response to three questions: What are we doing to help create inclusive and resilient communities? How can we use our voice to help drive dialogue toward solutions? Is Citi walking the talk — are we doing the right things within our own firm? The short answer to all three of these questions continues to be the same: that we can and should do more."
