We are hiring an Application Support Lead Analyst to join a high-performing, 24x7 Funds technology team responsible for the stability and availability of more than 30 business-critical applications serving platinum clients across EMEA and North America. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise across SQL, Linux, and real-time monitoring tools with strategic oversight, leading incident response, driving system improvements, and guiding a team of analysts to keep operations running with minimal disruption. Your work directly determines the reliability of systems that high-value clients depend on every day, making speed, precision, and proactive thinking essential to success.
Responsibilities:
Lead proactive monitoring and incident response across a portfolio of more than 30 Funds applications, ensuring continuous system availability within a 24x7 follow-the-sun operating model.
Coordinate with technology teams across multiple disciplines to identify root causes, define system enhancements, and deliver well-tested, effective solutions that minimise recurrence.
Define scope and objectives for complex application improvements by evaluating business processes, system behaviour, and operational standards, then translate findings into clearly documented requirements.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Systems Analysts to assess downstream impacts and establish support requirements for new and evolving capabilities.
Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security gaps within supported applications, communicate potential impact to stakeholders, and recommend practical mitigation options.
Mentor and coach junior analysts, allocate work across the team, and build team capability to maintain high service standards under pressure.
Influence technical and operational decisions by providing structured analysis, clear recommendations, and expert counsel to management and cross-functional partners.
Required qualifications & skills:
Experience in application support or a closely related technology operations discipline.
Working knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL, including the ability to write and execute ad hoc queries to investigate issues and support analysis.
Working knowledge of UNIX or Linux and Windows environments, including core system navigation and administration functions.
Ability to use real-time monitoring platforms such as ITRS Geneos or AppDynamics to proactively detect and respond to system events.
Experience using job scheduling tools such as AutoSys to manage and oversee automated workloads.
Experience logging, tracking, and reporting issues using tools such as JIRA or equivalent ticket management systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to remain effective under pressure and time constraints.
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Beneficial skills & qualifications:
Experience with messaging technologies such as TIBCO, SWIFT, MQ, or Kafka in a financial services or enterprise application environment.
Programming or scripting skills in any language, used to automate tasks, analyse data, or streamline operational processes.
Familiarity with problem management tools and methodologies for tracking and resolving recurring operational issues.
Basic understanding of financial markets and products, providing context for the business impact of system events.
Master's degree in a technology or business-related discipline.

"We consistently assess Citi’s role in response to three questions: What are we doing to help create inclusive and resilient communities? How can we use our voice to help drive dialogue toward solutions? Is Citi walking the talk — are we doing the right things within our own firm? The short answer to all three of these questions continues to be the same: that we can and should do more."
