LOCATION(S): Bristol

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in our Bristol Hub
About this opportunity
Help us identify and respond to threats before they become incidents.
Threats rarely arrive neatly packaged with all the information needed to make a decision. As a Protective Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will help identify, assess and respond to threats that could affect our people, operations, customers and reputation. We provide clear, practical intelligence to support decision making, from emerging risks through to live incidents, working closely with internal teams and external partners across government, law enforcement and industry.
This is a highly operational role. You will perform intelligence collection, research and analysis, provide support during live incidents, and engage closely with physical security, executive protection, cyber, fraud and insider threat teams to understand emerging threats and support decision‑making. No two weeks are the same. You could be supporting a live incident, assessing activist activity, researching organised criminal threats or briefing stakeholders on emerging risks.
Success in this role requires research, critical thinking, writing and presentation skills, and the ability to turn sophisticated information into insight.
What you’ll be doing:
Conduct intelligence collection and analysis, assessing source credibility, intent and relevance.
Identify and assess threats that could impact colleagues, sites, operations or reputation.
Apply structured thinking and good judgement to incomplete, conflicting or ambiguous information.
Produce high-quality intelligence assessments, reports, briefings and presentations that help collaborators understand threats and make informed decisions.
Supervise emerging issues and provide early warning of risks to the business.
Support physical security, executive protection, cyber, fraud and insider threat teams with timely intelligence and threat assessments.
Deliver rapid assessments during incidents and more in-depth analysis on emerging threats.
Translate sophisticated intelligence into clear, practical advice that supports decision-making.
Deliver written and verbal briefings to operational teams, senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
Build trusted working relationships across the Group and with external partners.
Why join us?
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.
What we’re looking for:
We recognise that strong analysts come from many different backgrounds. If you have experience researching complex issues, assessing risk, investigating incidents, evaluating evidence, identifying patterns or trends, and communicating findings to support decision-making, we'd encourage you to apply, even if your experience does not align perfectly with every part of the role.
Experience in protective intelligence, investigations, law enforcement or government intelligence roles
Exposure to executive risk, physical security or crisis management
Awareness of cyber threat concepts and how cyber risks translate to real‑world impact
Familiarity with structured analytical techniques
Calm, practical and credible in time‑critical situations
Curious and proactive, doesn’t wait for flawless information
Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make sound, defensible judgements
Keeps outputs simple, clear and passionate about what matters
Builds trust quickly and works well with a wide range of stakeholders
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

Returner opportunities
Returning to work after time away can be challenging. That’s why we offer Returner opportunities that are designed to assist people returning to work after a career break of 18 months or more and our roles are permanent from the day one. Whether you’ve been away from work due to parenthood, illness, or even travel, we’re looking forward to hearing from you as we continue to grow!
What can you expect?
Coming back into the world of work after a career break can be really daunting – and we therefore know how important flexibility is. We’re very aware that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, so will happily have the discussion about different working patterns with you.
These roles have been created with your career break in mind, making sure we are there to support you in your transition back to work. You will be brought in on a permanent contract and given meaningful work from day one. Plus, you’ll be paired with a buddy or mentor from your team to help guide you along the way. You’ll also benefit from being part of the wider Returners Community and have the chance to create a personal development plan that works for you.
Who are we looking for?
While banking or professional services experience is desirable, especially for some roles, we care more about the transferable skills you can bring to our business.
Testimonials
I had a good network of colleagues already working for Lloyds Banking Group, who were all very passionate about their roles - so it felt the right choice for me and gave me the courage to apply for a Business Analyst role through the Returners. It was a seamless recruitment experience and I was offered a role in the work I wanted to do.
