You'll support the day-to-day operations of our global Markets business as part of the Markets Chief Operating Office (COO), the team that enables and drives business performance. The Markets COO spans three key areas: Business Execution; Risk, Control & Transformation; and Innovation & Investments. Across these functions, you'll gain exposure to diverse aspects of the business, from partnering with trading desks and delivering key controls to supporting business development, strategic insights, and AI-enabled initiatives. Working alongside subject matter experts, you'll help identify opportunities to enhance processes and leverage technology to drive efficiency and automation.

We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed.
We’re committed to teaching you the ropes and then some. During the programme, you will study for a Level 3 AI & Data Technician Apprenticeship qualification. Aside from your peer group and manager, you will have a buddy and a dedicated programme manager. You will have access to first class technical and business training from well-established team, plus Citi’s online training portal.
Side by side job shadowing and coaching with your team will be combined with the opportunity to work with counterparts in one of the world’s largest investment banks. You will gain valuable insight into the workings of a large global, financial Markets business. You will have exposure to a range of sales and trading activities and work with new and cutting-edge technologies.
Your Day will look something like this…
Assignments vary each year based on business priorities and team needs. Examples include:
Data Analysis – Analyse business data to identify trends, insights, and areas for further investigation.
Control Execution – Support the execution of key controls that help ensure the smooth operation of sales and trading activities.
Strategic Initiatives – Contribute to projects that support business growth and long-term strategy.
AI Enablement – Help accelerate the adoption of AI solutions that drive productivity, efficiency, and revenue growth.
Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across teams to solve challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Process Improvement & Automation – Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria
We want to hear from you if…
You have 5 GCSEs including Maths with a minimum grade B (or equivalent) and English Language with a minimum grade C (or equivalent)
You have A level grades BBB (or UCAS equivalent)
You may also meet the course entry requirements with combinations of different qualifications to the same standard (provided subject requirements are met).
Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
You have been continuously living in the UK or EEA for at least the last 3 years
You have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the programme
Successful applicants will be enrolled on to the Level 3 AI & Data Technician Apprenticeship with Decoded.

Returner Programme
The Citi Returner Programme is a supportive hiring programme, designed to help you transition from a career break into a career within financial services. You may have worked in the finance sector, the tech sector or another industry all together! We value your knowledge, skills and experience, regardless of how and where you have developed them. We believe that hiring people from different backgrounds with diverse perspectives brings advantages to our teams.
The programme will start in January 2020 and Returners will benefit from a structured and in-depth induction to help them transition successfully back into the workplace, followed by a tailored programme of professional development and learning delivered over a period of 15-18 months, dependent on the role and career pathway.
