Stock Loan Middle Office - Senior Client Service Analyst (Assistant Vice President)

Job Description

Role Overview

This is a high-profile, client-facing leadership role within our Markets Operations function. You will lead the Client Service team, with a focus on client book management across Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL). You will serve as the primary escalation point for clients and internal partners, driving service excellence and operational control in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

What you'll do

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with external clients through regular engagement and structured client-facing meetings.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for all SBL-related client issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Provide dedicated support to business desks for client queries and issues.
  • Oversee accurate monthly fee accruals to prevent P&L adjustments.
  • Liaise with internal partners across Product Control, Settlements, Prime Brokerage, and Asset Servicing to ensure seamless end-to-end trade lifecycle support.
  • Maintain a robust control environment by continuously monitoring processes and risks, and escalating issues proactively
  • Lead the delivery of team-initiated projects from requirements definition through to production release.
  • Partner with the business to define new trading flows and key responsibilities for new products and processes.
  • Supervise and develop junior team members, acting as first point of escalation for internal and external issues.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, support performance reviews, and contribute to individual development planning.
  • Actively participate in recruitment, onboarding, and team retention initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational risk through enhanced controls and process re-engineering.
  • Contribute to automation and straight-through processing (STP) initiatives, including the use of digital tools, robotics, and workflow technologies.
  • Provide input into strategic platform initiatives that reduce manual touchpoints and align technology delivery to business goals.

What we need from you

Core Competencies

  • Client Focus: A strong client service orientation with the ability to build trust and manage relationships at a senior level.
  • Communication: Clear, confident, and influential communicator — both written and verbal — capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Risk Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating operational risk, with a strong control-oriented mindset.
  • Problem Solving: Analytical thinker who draws on diverse information sources to make sound, evaluative judgements in dynamic situations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Collaboration: Energetic, flexible, and proactive team player who can work effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Experience in Securities Borrowing & Lending, Prime Brokerage, or a related capital markets operations function.
  • Familiarity with trade lifecycle processes across Fixed Income or Equity products.
  • Exposure to project delivery, including business requirements definition and user acceptance testing.
