Internal Communications Lead, Member of the Future Leaders Shadow Board | Volunteer role

Job Description

REPORTING TO: Head of Communications and Chief People Officer, with accountability to the Co-Chairs for FLSB participation

START DATE: ASAP

EXPECTED COMMITMENT: Discretionary, with an average of 4 hours per week

LOCATION: Remote

ROLE PURPOSE

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, highly organised and proactive WIBF member to join the Future Leaders Shadow Board (“FLSB”). The FLSB acts as a strategic partner to the Management Board, ensuring WIBF’s strategy and initiatives remain relevant, forward-looking and aligned with the needs of early career members - our “future leaders”.

The FLSB consists of members of the banking and finance community who are early on in their careers, typically within the first 10 years.

As part of your role as a member of the FLSB, you will work closely with the Head of Communications and Chief People Officer to strengthen communications, collaboration and connections across WIBF’s volunteer team. You will also work with the FLSB Co-Chairs and Management Board, contributing to strategic objectives and acting as a link between the FLSB and the Communications and People teams.

Members of the FLSB are expected to hold the position for two years in the first instance, with the opportunity to be re-elected for a further one year term thereafter. Membership of WIBF is a prerequisite to being a member of the FLSB.

This is a varied opportunity to help volunteers feel informed, involved and connected to WIBF’s purpose and to one another. Working across volunteer town halls, newsletters, the Volunteer Liaison Network and the volunteers’ WhatsApp group, you will help share information, celebrate contributions and create opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. You will also contribute fresh ideas to wider volunteer communications projects, with scope to shape and deliver initiatives alongside the Communications and People teams.
