Job Description

About WIBF

Women in Banking & Finance (WIBF) is a membership network that has championed women in financial services for over 40 years. With branches in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow, Norwich, Northern Ireland and Manchester, we help women across the UK.

A volunteer-led social enterprise, WIBF supports women’s career ambitions through development programmes, leadership opportunities, networking events and cross-industry collaboration involving our members and network.

In partnering with WIBF, corporate members from across financial services demonstrate the importance they place on accelerating progress for diversity, equity and inclusion.

WIBF is committed to delivering tangible change to our sector, ensuring equal opportunities for women as employees, customers and entrepreneurs, and empowering companies to build better businesses and workplaces.

We challenge the industry to adopt new ideas and address structural barriers, and inspire the wider community to create change across financial services.

Our core values have remained key to our success for over 40 years. We are volunteer-led, independent, inspiring and action-oriented.

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, highly organised and proactive WIBF member to join the Future Leaders Shadow Board (“FLSB”) as Corporate Partnerships Lead.

The FLSB acts as a strategic partner to the Management Board, ensuring WIBF’s strategy and initiatives remain relevant, forward-looking and aligned with the needs of early career members - our “future leaders”. The FLSB consists of members of the banking and finance community who are early on in their careers, typically within the first 10 years.

This role will play a key part in driving value for WIBF's corporate partners. Corporate partners are financial services firms who benefit from a paid membership offering, designed to help them attract, support and retain exceptional talent, and who are committed to driving measurable progress and impact across the industry’s gender equity agenda.

The Corporate Partnerships Lead drives tangible value for WIBF’s corporate partners, ensuring they feel supported, engaged and see clear return on their investment. As a cornerstone of WIBF’s strategy, this role strengthens corporate partner relationships, boosts engagement, and turns key performance indicators (KPIs) into meaningful action and impact. It also helps partners unlock the full breadth of their membership benefits, enabling them to advance gender equity across financial services with confidence and momentum.

As part of your role as a member of the FLSB, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the FLSB Co-Chairs and Management Board, supporting the Co-Chairs to drive forward strategic objectives and to act as liaison between the FLSB.

Members of the FLSB are expected to hold the position for two years in the first instance, with the opportunity to be re-elected for a further one-year term thereafter. Membership of WIBF is a prerequisite to being a member of the FLSB.

Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Support and maintain ongoing relationships with corporate partners, helping to ensure they feel valued and see clear return on their investment.
  • Assist WIBF’s Corporate Partner team in planning and delivering key touchpoints, including sponsor roundtables and corporate partner breakfasts.
  • Help track and report corporate partner engagement, retention and benchmarking data, highlighting opportunities to strengthen value and deepen participation.
  • Ensure corporate partners are aware of — and actively using — their membership benefits, including thought leadership, mentoring, events and social mobility initiatives.
  • Support the onboarding of new corporate partners, helping to create a smooth, positive start to their WIBF journey.
  • Act as a key point of contact for corporate partners, escalating queries or opportunities to the Corporate Partner team where appropriate.
  • Bring early‑career insight and ideas to help shape and evolve the corporate partner offering.

FLSB accountabilities

  • Accountable to the Co-Chairs of the FLSB and WIBF Corporate Partnerships team (Nicky King & Ras Gohil), maintaining a close and collaborative working relationship with the FLSB, Management Board, and wider WIBF volunteer network.
  • Provide updates at each FLSB meeting (6-8 weekly cadence) on the progress of your respective area and any actions previously taken.
  • Advocate for WIBF at events, in a professional capacity and on relevant social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Assist in driving and delivering WIBF, Management Board, and FLSB strategic objectives.

Required skills and experiences

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to balance a portfolio of relationships and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach, with the confidence to identify opportunities and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Good attention to detail, particularly when tracking engagement, retention and benchmarking data.
  • A collaborative team player, able to work effectively alongside the wider Corporate Partner team and other WIBF volunteers.
  • Genuine interest in, and understanding of, the financial services sector and the challenges facing early-career professionals within it.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, volunteer-led environment, balancing WIBF commitments alongside a full-time role.
  • Passionate about gender equity and diversity within financial services, with a strong alignment to WIBF’s mission and values.
  • Prior experience in account management, partnerships, events or a related commercial function is desirable but not essential.

For roles with the FLSB, we’re also looking for people who have these key capabilities:

  • Strategic Thinking:
    • Ability to create, facilitate and provide input into wider strategy discussions.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Focused on collaboration with ability to build strong, effective relationships with FLSB members, stakeholders and paying members.
    • Demonstrates empathy and is capable of building trust with FLSB members, stakeholders and paying members.
    • Demonstrates active listening skills and acts with a high degree of integrity and respect.
  • Leadership:
    • Ability to guide and provide direction when needed for other FLSB members.
    • Can stand in and take initiative, as and when needed.
    • Provides insight and a different perspective on issues, or challenging matters.
    • Actively assists in driving and delivering WIBF, Management Board and FLSB strategic objectives.
  • Results Orientated:
    • Focused on the end result and ultimate outcome.
    • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage conflicting priorities.
    • Adopts a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Communication:
    • Able to communicate with clarity, delivering key messages clearly and effectively.
    • Can adapt different communication styles based on the audience.
    • Articulates ideas and suggestions verbally and in writing, in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • Teamwork:
    • Works collaboratively with other members of the FLSB, the Management Board and wider WIBF stakeholders more broadly to achieve results.

Our expectations for this role

FLSB meetings are held every 6-8 weeks. There is an expectation on FLSB members to attend all FLSB meetings unless by exception, in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

This is a voluntary role and service on the FLSB is without remuneration unless expenses apply by exception (e.g. events travel and accommodation by prior agreement).
